Stratingh Award

We are delighted to announce that Patricia Izquierdo García and Kira Podolsky have been named the first two recipients of the Stratingh Award. The award ceremony will take place during the GroMoChem symposium, where both awardees will also give their award lecture.

About the award

The Stratingh Award aims to recognize outstanding early-career researchers who have made significant contributions to the field of molecular chemistry within four years of completing their PhD and demonstrate exceptional potential to shape the future of the field.

Established by the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry, University of Groningen, the award celebrates postdoctoral scientists who are poised to become the next generation of academic leaders. The award is presented biennially at the GroMoChem International Symposium.

The award consists of:

• A monetary prize of €1,000
• A certificate and an artwork presented by the Stratingh Institute for Chemistry
• Award lecture as part of plenary program at the GroMoChem international symposium, May 10-13^th 2026 in Groningen

Eligibility

Eligible candidates for the award must be nominated by 28 February 2026; the winner will be announced on 2 April 2026.
